H3 Max: the model that made AI video faster than playback
fal's post-trained MiniMax H3 generates a 5-second clip in about 3 seconds. That single number turned AI video from files you make into channels you broadcast.
| Speed | 5s clip in ~3s · 15s clip in ~9-15s · ~35× the official H3 endpoint |
| Price | Turbo: $0.01/s @768p promo → $0.04/s list · Regular: $0.02/s promo → $0.08/s list (75% off promo thru 2026-09-07) |
| Resolutions | 480p / 768p (base H3 reaches 2K/4K) |
| Audio | Native stereo, generated with video |
| Live variant | H3 Max Live — continuous generation for 24/7 broadcast |
| Based on | MiniMax H3 (33B, open weights) · launched 2026-08-25 |
Why faster-than-playback is the whole story
Every video model before H3 Max produced files: you prompted, waited, downloaded, then published. H3 Max produces footage quicker than a viewer can watch it. That inverts the product: instead of making videos, you can run channels that never stop — and let the audience steer what happens next.
Within two weeks of launch this one property produced a new broadcast category: Infinite Slop (an endless chat-directed channel), Renoise Live (an AI survival show with a director agent and seasons), and fal's own infinite broadcast demo.
Pricing at a glance
H3 Max comes in two variants and a moving price grid: Turbo (the fast one — every AI live stream runs on it) and regular. A 75%-off promo is auto-applied until 2026-09-07:
- Turbo 768p: $0.01/sec promo → $0.04/sec list — a 24/7 channel at promo prices is ≈ $864/day, ≈ $3,456/day at list.
- Turbo 480p: $0.00625/sec promo → $0.025/sec list.
- Regular 768p: $0.02/sec promo → $0.08/sec list — 24/7 at list ≈ $6,912/day.
- fal's own playground also gives 5 free H3 Max videos per day with an account.

Limitations
The short version: a 768p ceiling, unstable dialogue sync, and fast-moving pricing and endpoints. Full detail in the H3 Max review.

H3 Max FAQ
What is H3 Max?
H3 Max is a post-trained, inference-optimized version of MiniMax's open H3 video model, released by fal on August 25, 2026. It generates 5-second 768p clips with native audio in roughly 3 seconds — faster than playback speed.
How much does H3 Max cost?
H3 Max Turbo: $0.01/sec at 768p and $0.00625/sec at 480p under the 75%-off promo (thru 2026-09-07), then $0.04 and $0.025 per second at list. Regular H3 Max: $0.02/sec @768p promo, $0.08/sec list. A 5-second Turbo 768p clip is $0.05 at promo prices.
Why does "faster than playback" matter?
When generation is quicker than watching, a channel can broadcast continuously without ever running out of footage. Every AI live stream launched since August 2026 — Infinite Slop, Renoise Live — runs on this property.
What resolution does H3 Max support?
480p and 768p. It trades resolution for speed: the base H3 model goes up to 2K/4K but is far slower. For hero-quality single videos, use base H3; for live streams, use Max.
Can it generate audio?
Yes — native stereo audio is generated together with the video. Dialogue sync can drift, so productions needing precise lip-sync add a TTS pass.
